Commitment to CSR

One of the beliefs around which the Macquarie Group formed its philosophy was that, as a company is a member of the society in which it operates it follows that one of its duties is to work in different ways for the betterment of that society. This thought drove Macquarie 's early community support programs, which were formalised in 1984 when the Macquarie Foundation was established.

The Macquarie Foundation funds a diversity of community needs supporting more than 500 community organisations worldwide. The Macquarie
Foundation focuses its resources in five core areas:

  • health
  • welfare
  • education
  • arts
  • environment

The Macquarie Foundation aims to fulfill a dual role, providing a leadership role in corporate philanthropy while actively encouraging the engagement of staff in the community at a variety of levels.

Staff engagement is integral to our community giving program and Macquarie has a range of policies and resources to support and encourage staff in their local community activities. This approach
ensures we contribute our time and expertise, as well as our financial support.
