  1. Hong Kong Corporate Social Responsibility Charter - sign up now!
    The Charter was publicly launched by 23 companies of the Community Business Leadership Team on 26 September 2005.  The aim of the Charter is to raise awareness of CSR and to provide
    organisations committed to CSR with a declaration to demonstrate this responsibility to their stakeholders. For details on the Hong Kong CSR Charter and how to become a signatory, please visit: http://www.communitybusiness.org.hk/CSR_Charter.html.

  1. "Managing Tsunami Relief Efforts: Lessons learned from corporate involvement"
    Evening Seminar, 26 October, 6.30-8.00pm, Hughes Room, FCC

    We will explore and discuss selected strategies that companies and charities have
    followed, and the obstacles and successes they have encountered in managing
    Tsunami relief efforts.  Speakers include: Renée Berman, Vice President,

    1. Barclays Capital Asia Limited and Baker & McKenzie Become 'Corporate Citizens' of Community Business
      Community Business continues to attract companies committed to CSR, and has expanded its services to 22 Corporate Citizens or member companies.  For a full list of our Corporate Citizens, click here.
       
    2. Employee Volunteering Workshops
      Community Business will conduct 4 identical workshops on EV in Ma rch 2005, helping businesses to develop an EV programme that meets business priorities, reflect employees’ interests and skills, and address community needs.  For details, click here.
       
    3. Luncheon to launch the publication, 'Women Leaders in Hong Kong : Insights into their workplace experiences' (FULL)
      'Women Leaders in Hong Kong : Insights into their workplace experiences' is a must read for companies addressing diversity and for those genuinely interested in understanding the needs of women in the workplace.  A luncheon will be held on 11 March to launch the publication.  For details, click here.
       
    4. New publications: 'Employee Volunteering: The Guide' and 'The Business Case for Employee Volunteering'
      Employee Volunteer: The Guide – the first publication in Hong Kong that addresses the key elements for successful corporate employee volunteering programmes.  Click here to view the publication.

         REGIONAL CSR EVENTS

    1. CSR Good Practice Group formed
      A CSR Good Practice Group was formed following the conference 'The UK and the Greater Pearl River Delta: Developing Corporate Social Responsibility Together' by British Consulate General.  The Group explored different initiatives to move CSR forward in Pearl River Delta.  The second work group meeting will be held in March 2005.
